Changing the Accounting Period

Changing the accounting period requires approval from the Company’s shareholders, the Revenue Department and finally the Ministry of Commerce.

We note that the process typically takes around two to three months although also note that the requesting the approval from the Revenue Department may trigger a tax investigation. Only after obtaining the approval for the change of accounting period from the Revenue Department can the Company notify the Bureau of Business Accounting, Ministry of Commerce.
