Opening a Company Bank Account?

After a limited company (“Company”) is established, the Board of Directors of the Company may pass a resolution to open the Company’s bank account and prepare the minutes of the meeting to support the application for opening the bank account with its desired bank.

Such minutes must indicate details of the bank account(s) information, the authorized signatory for cheque payment, etc.

Apart from the minutes, the certified corporate documents e.g. Company Affidavit, List of Shareholders etc. are also required for supporting the application. Please be aware that each commercial bank will have their own regulation/requirement i.e. some banks may also require a copy of VAT Certificate and the work permit(s) of the foreign authorized director(s) of the Company. So, the Company should check and confirm with the bank beforehand in order to prepare all required documents before visiting the bank.
