Double Impact Group joins Mazars' integrated structure

SCI Double Impact Ltd. and SCI Audit Plus Ltd. have together become the first accounting firm in Thailand to fully integrate into an international partnership ; the Mazars' partnership.

The Mazars' business model is unique in that individual partners and shareholders, whilst remaining as owners of the business in each country, also simultaneously become full partners of the global firm.

The benefit of this structure is that it allows cross border operations to be completed much more easily. This structure also has the effect of strongly encouraging Mazars' businesses in each country to adopt common techniques and templates as part of an agreed global strategy.

At a function in Bangkok to announce the merger between SCI Double Impact Group and Mazars on 19th February, Mazars invited the European Ambassador and Head of the European Commission Delegation to Thailand to officiate.

Suleeporn Triyaprasertporn, Director of Audit at Mazars Double Impact, explained "It is not completely appropriate to invite an Ambassador from any one country to a Mazars function as Mazars is a truly global organization comprising 435 partners from 45 different countries. As Mazars also has a very strong market position within Europe, our invitation to the European Ambassador to attend is our way of emphasizing our "business without borders" concept".

John Mellows, who is the head of Asia Pacific for Mazars based in Singapore, said:
"Having a strong presence in Thailand is now very important for us given how many of our European listed audit clients have a significant presence in Thailand".

Bruce Darrington, the founder and now Managing Partner of Mazars in Thailand added: "We are delighted to join an integrated global partnership, which is currently the only one that exists in the accounting profession today. Last year, when we considered our future strategy, we came to the conclusion that the Mazars model was definitely the most appropriate model for our business in Thailand to move forward. Almost all of our clients are involved in activities in other countries and we felt that only Mazars could genuinely support "borderless services".

"We were also very lucky to find that our chosen areas of business expertise, those being Accounting, Audit, Taxation, Legal, Strategic and Business Advisory services were exactly the same as those of Mazars. This made our integration decision even easier".
