| - For a general educational institution, permission to stay will not be granted for more than one year.
- For other types of schools, non-formal school; permission to stay will be granted for a period certified by the school (no more than 90 days). The total length of stay shall not exceed one year from the date that the person entered Thailand.

The following documents are required: - A copy of the school’s licence issued by the proper authorities
- A letter of confirmation and request to stay issued by the educational institution showing the year of education, level of curriculum, and educational achievement
- A copy of the school curriculum and class schedule
- A confirmation letter issued by the governmental agency or the provincial official in charge (International schools are exempt from this requirement)

The applicant must provide evidence that he receives income of at least THB 65,000 a month or has THB 800,000 in a Thai bank account (savings or fixed deposit account). The balance of at least THB 800,000 must be held for 3 months after the visa is granted. The first year in which the applicant requests a retirement visa, he must also provide evidence that this amount was in his account 60 days before applying for the visa. | - The applicant must provide evidence that he receives income of at least THB 65,000 a month; or
- The applicant must provide evidence that he has at least THB 800,000 in a Thai bank account (savings or fixed deposit account) prior the filing date. - The applicant must provide evidence that he both receives annual income and has funds deposited in a Thai bank account which together total not less than THB 800,000 on the application date. The funds in the Thai bank account must be held for 3 months after the visa is granted. After those three months, the funds can be withdrawn, but the balance in the Thai bank account must not fall below THB 400,000.
