Generally, there is a fine, and interest is imposed, for filing a VAT return after the deadline (the 15th of the following month). However, in order to help taxpayers be in good standing, the Thai Ministry of Finance has approved extending to 30 June 2016 the deadline to file additional VAT returns for the period from January 2016 to March 2016 without imposing interest or a fine, for companies registered for VAT that applied for the benefits under the tax amnesty programme.
