Nominee shareholders of Thai majority owned companies are to be investigated.
The Department of Business Development (‘DBD’) launched the program to investigate Thai majority-owned companies. The initial investigation was in Phuket from 8 to 12 March 2010.
Keywords: Legal, Nominee shareholders, Real estate, Thai majority owned companies
The next investigation took place from 22 to 26 March 2010 for companies with registered addresses in Phayao, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai. The DBD sent letters to inform those companies in advance to prepare evidence to support the share capital payment.
Further, the investigation is to be extended from Thai majority owned companies, to also include rice farming, real estate, agricultural (retail and wholesale of agricultural products, rice milling, warehousing, and silo) companies.
