Reduction of transfer and mortgage fees for residential property

On 17 January 2022, the Government published a notification of the Ministry of Interior in the Government Gazette to reduce the transfer fee from 2% to 0.01% and the mortgage fee from 1% to 0.01%.

The fee reduction shall be applicable to the following cases:

The transfer of real estate which is a residential building categorized as a single house, a semi-detached house, a townhouse, a commercial building, or land with such a building.
The purchase price and the appraised price of real estate is not more than THB 3 million.
The registration of the transfer and the mortgage is made at the same time.
The buyer is a Thai citizen.

The fee reduction shall be effective from 18 January 2022 to 31 December 2022.
